‘The worst final seasons’, according to series fans

With the final and disappointing fourth season of The Umbrella Academy, Reddit users recalled some series finales that were below average.

With many expectations from fans and the public, Netflixthe fourth and final season of The Umbrella Academy officially arrived on streaming on August 8, 2024, but disappointed many critics and viewers.

After not liking the last year of the series, created by Steve Blackman and Jeremy Slater based on the comics of Gerard Waythe user of the Reddit called ShadowJester88 did not spare criticism about the new phase of production.

“[Eu e minha namorada] We were incredibly disappointed. A truncated season. An even shorter storyline. A bunch of marginalized characters when there was already little to go on. Poor character choices. The list goes on,” he wrote (via NME). “It got me thinking, this season was a letdown relative to the rest of the series, including the slump of season 3, in my mind it may give Game of Thrones season 8 a run for its money for worst final season.”

With that in mind, ShadowJester88 took the opportunity to ask other internet users which would be the worst season finales between the two examples. In response, some users of Reddit took the opportunity to rescue other disappointments. Series like Back to the 70s, True Blood, House of Cards, Dexter, The Flash were cited.

“The departure of Topher Grace was a nail in the coffin, not to mention that Ashton Kutcher was barely there either. All the new characters were terrible and you could tell no one cared and they were just giving a shit. Terrible season for an excellent sitcom,” he opined Tidus4713 on Back to the 70s.

Already Fidelos quoted True Blood: “That zombie plot is irrelevant and resolved off-screen in episode 4, and instead we get a Bill sick begging for Sookie kill him. So she does and lives happily ever after with… some random guy.

A series that was built on sex, blood, and a love triangle had a final season that barely included any of those things.
