Actress played Alex Dunphy for over a decade

Ariel Winter moved away from Los Angeles. The 26-year-old actress who became known for playing Alex Dunphy in ModernFamily (2009-2020) left the city that breathes entertainment to slow down his pace of life.

In an interview with AND! News (via People), Winter confessed, “I never thought Los Angeles had my vibe.” She moved in with her boyfriend Luke Benward.

“This opportunity came up, and I was like, ‘You know what? I’m in a phase of change and I’m really trying to heal and grow and evolve’. It really opened up my world,” he continued.

The actress also talked about the sitcom in which she was a part from the age of 11 to 22 and characterized its end as “difficult”.

“When you work with someone almost every day for 12 years and then it’s like, ‘Poof,’ everyone’s scattered around…” she reflected, adding that her co-stars and she “try to stay in touch.”

“You spend so much time with people, you end up becoming the family you portray,” he said.

Winter is especially close to Nolan Gouldwho played Luke Dunphy, his character’s brother, in ModernFamily.

“He’s my brother. He was my first best friend, which is a really beautiful thing,” he said. “We met when he was 10 and I was 11, and we went through so many phases of life together. We stayed together, firm and strong.”
