Second adaptation of Stephen King’s book of the same name, Running Man takes place in a dystopian future. The United States government has become dictatorialand organize sadistic game shows to avoid any rebellion. Among these there is “The Great Hunt”, during which a candidate is chased by assassins who can count on the rest of the population to find and eliminate him for thirty days. Lacking the medical means to pay for crucial treatment for his daughter, a man named Ben Richards agrees to participate.

Running Man is the new feature film byEdgar Wrightwhich returns four years after the release of Last night in Soho. As usual, the director wrote the script of his new film himself. However, he was helped by Michael Bacallwith whom he had already written Scott Pellegrino. In front of the camera, the director invited the new Hollywood darling to play Ben Richards: Glen Powell.

A trailer full of action scenes

While Running Man coming out in just over a month, Paramount Pictures has released a new trailer for the film. This is a real eye-catcher. Contains extracts lots of action scenes that look crazy.

The trailer notably reveals several ways in which other candidates for the “Great Hunt” were cruelly murdered. It also shows a passage during which the main character jumps out of a moving car and lands in the water when it just exploded. And another during which jumps from a window before holding on to a rope. We also discover a passage from the crash on the plane teased by Glen Powell last August.

Still more than a month of waiting before release

Next to Glen Powell, Josh Brolin (Hitman), Colman Domingo (The four seasons), Katy O’Brian (Mission Impossible: The Final Showdown), Michele Cera (The Great Game) AND William H. Macy (Jurassic Park III) are visible in the new trailer of Running Man.

This new adaptation of Stephen King’s novel will arrive in French cinemas next November 19th. Meanwhile, Glen Powell is currently starring in the series Powers of Chadwhich began airing September 30 on Disney+.
