Frankenstein: Oscar Isaac brings the creature to life in an excerpt from the film published online

Oscar Isaac and Jacob Elordi headline the headlines Frankenstein

Three years after the release of Pinocchio on Netflix, Guillermo del Toro will soon unveil his new creation on the streaming platform. This time he will offer it to us the film he dreamed of making since he was a child: Frankenstein. This new adaptation should be faithful to the story written by Mary Shelley. Published in 1818, it focuses on a scientist and the monster he created before feeling remorse for his work.

To play the scientist who brings Frankenstein’s creature to life, the Mexican director has chosen Oscar Isaac. As for the creature itself, he initially wanted to give the role to Andrew Garfield. The latter had accepted and was preparing to play the character. But he eventually had to give up as he was busy with another project. Guillermo del Toro then turned to Giacobbe Elordi to replace it.

An important scene revealed before the film’s release

A few weeks before the release of Frankenstein, IGN just revealed an excerpt from the film. Imbued with a gothic atmosphere sticking to the story imagined by Mary Shelley, the scene in question shows it to us the moment in which the character played by Oscar Isaac activates his machine to give life to the creature played by Jacob Elordi.

After lightning strikes the antenna that is part of the car, it starts up. But the clip ends before we can see the creature move. To discover the sequel to this scene we will have to wait for the release of the feature film.

A film that promises to be full of emotions

At the film’s recent premiere, Guillermo del Toro indicated that his Frankenstein spoke “of the very Catholic concept of fathers and children, and of the pain that is transmitted from one generation to the next”. The interpreter of Elisabetta Lavenza, My Gothicfor his part he assured that the feature film was “incredibly moving and full of heart”.

Frankenstein will come out next November 7th on Netflix. North American audiences will soon be able to see it in theaters before then. Because it will be screened in select theaters starting this Friday, October 17th. Unfortunately, in France, the film will only be offered on the streaming platform.
