After the director Jon M. Chu (In a New York Neighborhood) create suspense about who would play the Cowardly Lion in Wicked: Part 2the second and final chapter of the adaptation of the hit Broadway musical, the mystery has come to an end.
On the social networks of the film, starring Cynthia Erivo (Harriet: The Road to Freedom) and Ariana Grande (Don’t Look Up), it was revealed that Colman Domingostar of sing sing (2023) and the series Fear the Walking Dead (2015-2023) and Euphoria (2019- ), will be the voice of the Dorothy Gale. Previously, Chu had revealed that he invited the actor via message on Instagram: “I said, ‘Not many lines, but maybe you have some time. I know you’re busy. I’ll come to you.’ He replied: ‘Why not? Let’s go!’ And then we went ahead and recorded the lines“, he reminded the Deadlinemaintaining the mystery about the identity of Sunday: “Wait until the red carpet, when the actor who gave us the voice of Cowardly Lion step on it. It’s going to be incredible.”
What is the story of Wicked?
Wicked tells the story of two unlikely friends, Elphaba (Cynthia Erivo), before becoming the Wicked Witch of the Westand Glinda (Ariana Grande), the future Good Witch of the Southwho become best friends, even with opposing personalities, different points of view and the fight for the love of the same man.
In addition to Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande — which, in Brazil, gained the voices of Myra Ruiz and Fabi Banginterpreters of Elphaba and Glinda in the theater, respectively —, the cast of Wicked still has Jonathan Bailey (Bridgerton, Travel Companions), Bowen Yang (Megaromantic, Saturday Night Live), Jeff Goldblum (Jurassic Park) and Michelle Yeoh (Everything Everywhere at the Same Time), between others.
