‘The Secret Agent’ makes more than half a million reais in preview screenings in Brazil

New feature film by Kleber Mendonça Filho (Bacurau), starring Wagner Moura (Civil War), opens in Brazilian cinemas in November

The Secret Agentnew film by Kleber Mendonça Filho (Nighthawk) starring Wagner Moura (Civil War), made more than half a million reais in its preview screenings, which took place last Saturday, October 25th, in cinemas across the country.

The novelty, which should represent Brazil at the 2026 Oscars, grossed R$590,760 at the box office and ranked eighth on the list of most watched films last weekend (between October 23rd and 26th). Check out the ranking below (via Comscore):

What is the story of The Secret Agent?

In The Secret Agent, Marcelo (Wagner Moura) is a university professor, who flees to Recife to escape government agents who are looking for him for subversive activities. However, upon arriving in the city, where he believes he is safe until he can flee the country with his young son, he discovers that he has been sworn to death by an old enemy.
