Marisa Orth, an inseparable part of the history of MixBrasil, where she has led the legendary Show do Gongo since 1999, will be honored with the Ícone Mix Award
THE MixBrasil Festivalthe largest LGBT+ cultural event in Latin America, which takes place from November 12th to 23rd in various cultural spaces in the capital of São Paulo, has just announced the program for its 33rd edition. This year, the event has the theme ‘A Gente Quer+’ and presents 142 films from 33 countries and 18 Brazilian states and 1 national series – most of which have never been seen before in São Paulo – in addition to 8 theatrical shows, XR experiences from different countries, visual arts, literature, games, conferences, the Gongo Show and, as a big new feature of this edition, a Competitive Exhibition of films made with Artificial Intelligence.
Mix opens with the film shown in Cannes and unreleased in São Paulo, Love Me Tenderlyby the French director Anna Cazenave Cambetwho will come to the event. Also in the opening, Marisa Orthan inseparable part of the history of MixBrasil, where since 1999 she has led the legendary Show do Gongo, will be honored with the Ícone Mix Award.
Among the highlights of international films are also: Twinless – One Less Twinwinner of the Audience Award at the Sundance Festival; The Flamingo’s Mysterious Gazewhich won the Jury Prize for Best Film at the show Un Certain Regard in Cannes; The Galactic ShoeAustralian animation Leela Varghese and Emma Hough Hobbwhich won the Félix Award for Best International Feature at the Rio Festival; between others.
Among the nationals, titles such as: Only Good Thingsfrom Daniel Nolasco; Apollofrom Taina Müller and Isis Broken; Tourniquetfrom Ana Catarina Lugarini; I Bring Your Lovefrom Claudia Castro; Arrenegofrom Fernando Weller and Alan Oliveirawhich makes its world premiere; Copacabana, May 4thfrom Allan Ribeiro; in addition to the first three chapters of the series Ayôdirected by Yasmim Thayná and scripted and starring Lucas Oranmian.
