It looks like there will be no rest for Jason Bateman anytime soon. After finishing production in ozarkBateman will continue to star in another Netflix project together KingIt’s Taron Egerton. The actor was cast to star in the action thriller titled to continue. This film will be part of Amblin Entertainment’s production deal with Netflix which ended in June 2021.
According to the log line provided by Term, to continue It’s about a young TSA agent named Ethan Kopek who is blackmailed by a mysterious traveler into passing a dangerous package through security on a flight on Christmas Day. Bateman was rumored to play the mysterious traveler, but nothing concrete has been announced.
The film will be directed by Jaume Collet-Serra, with TJ Fixman writing the first draft of the screenplay and Michael Green refining a final draft. Jaume Collet-Serra is the director behind the shoalsand most recently the upcoming DC movie black adam. Fixman is the author of the animated film. Ratchet and Clank with Sylvester Stallone, and Michael Green has had tremendous success in scriptwriting Logan Yes 2049 runner bladeamong other projects. War for the Planet of the Apes producer Dylan Clark is also in charge of producing the project, with Brian Williams, Scott Greenberg and Seth William Meier serving as executive producers.
Jason Bateman has received a lot of praise for his performance on Netflix ozark, including an Emmy win in 2019. Bateman was nominated for two Emmys again this year for his acting and directing on the show. Previously played development stopped, which Netflix acquired from Fox in 2013 for the past two seasons. Given Bateman’s clearly positive experience with Netflix, it’s no surprise that he wants to work with the streaming service again. Bateman’s signing for another project is also a positive move for Netflix. The streaming service has lost subscribers and ozark fans can keep the service if Bateman is still involved in the projects. to continue might be what Netflix needs.
Bateman has been involved in many other projects outside of his relationship with Netflix. the horrible bosses Star recently wrapped production on an untitled film about Nike and the company’s relationship with ’90s basketball legend Michael Jordan. Bateman will star opposite Ben Affleck and Matt Damon, and the film is being made for Amazon. The release date is yet to be determined, but we probably shouldn’t expect to see the film until late 2023.
Bateman was also originally cast to direct the Ryan Reynolds-directed film. password new version, but said he had to quit his job due to a scheduling conflict with ozark. However, with ozark ending last year, there may be room for Bateman to return to the film.
