More and more people are looking for productions of the genre true crime in Brazil. We saw the reflection of public interest with the success that was Brutal Pact: The Murder of Daniella Perez (2022) and we can see that this is a gap that is still growing in the market.
Tomas Yankelevichhead of content for Latin America at Warner Bros. Discovery.also highlighted the need to produce series “respectful in their approaches”, considering the sensitivity of the subject and those involved in the facts.
Henry Borel case
Henry Borel’s death took place on March 8, 2021. Henry was 4 years old and was murdered in the apartment where he lived with his stepfather, former councilor Dr. Jairinho, and his mother, teacher Monique Medeiros.
Both are accused of the boy’s death. Monique Medeiros was arrested, but was released after habeas corpus was granted on August 26 this year. Jairinho’s request for release was denied based on elements of the process according to which he had physically assaulted the victim, causing injuries that resulted in death.
