Since 2017, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has been talking about wanting to become US president – but he changed his mind for the family
In the last years, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson showed interest in running for president of the United States – and a poll even showed how 46% of Americans would vote for the actor for president in 2024. However, the star of black adam ruled out potential candidacy, because he wants to focus on his family.
The actor spoke about this subject during an interview with CBS Sunday Morning (via Variety). “[A candidatura à presidência dos EUA] it’s off the table. Yup. “I know what it was like to be on the road and to be so busy that I was away for many years at my first daughter’s house,” he continued. The Rock. “Growing up at this critical age, at this critical time in their lives, and that’s what the presidency does. So my number one priority is my daughters.”

When did The Rock show interest in being US president?
In one of the first statements about the desire to be president of the United States, The Rock spoke to Variety in 2017 that he would “100% consider” contesting the elections. Also, a few months later, he went to the show The Ellen DeGeneres Show this week to disclose Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle (2017) and talked about how he took this thought seriously.
“In the world we live in today, we see the real effect that people like Dwayne cause in people,” explained hart, who said he fully supported the possible candidacy. “He’s a guy who’s very serious about spreading love, fun and life improvements on all scales. And if he does run, I’d be all for it.”
