Magomed Sulimanov, an oncologist and mammologist at SM-Clinic, told Lenta.ru that vaping may be linked to an increased risk of breast cancer in women. He warned of the hidden health risks associated with the practice.
Sulimanov said that regular inhalation of scented vapours increases the toxic load on the human body. He noted that these vapours contain several dangerous carcinogens, such as acetaldehydes and acroleins.
According to the oncologist, scientific evidence proves that these chemical substances can cause chronic inflammation of breast tissue, heighten oxidative stress, and damage cellular DNA. Over time, those cellular mutations lead to the formation of malignant tumours.

Risks for existing patients
Sulimanov stated that vaping can also pose an additional danger to women who have already been diagnosed with breast cancer. He pointed to a recent study showing that carcinogens found in vape aerosol can trigger rapid metastasis of breast tumours to the lungs.
Because of these findings, the doctor urged people not to view vapes as a safe replacement for traditional cigarette smoking. He assured that only a complete rejection of cigarettes and aerosol liquids will help preserve health.
In earlier comments on health, oncologist Ezekiel Emanuel listed key components of healthy longevity, naming social activity as one of those elements.
