Alix Earle has finally broken her silence on what sparked her rift with Alex Cooper, revealing the contents of a scathing text message she wrote to the Call Her Daddy host amid their public spat.
The 25-year-old's Netflix show Earle Meets World dropped on Friday, with the Dancing With The Stars season 34 runner-up labeling Cooper, 32, as "toxic" and "sick and twisted" in the message she read aloud on camera.
"I don't like you. I'm not gonna fall for your bait, getting into a back and forth online. And I don't think you want that, either," the message read in part. "You are manipulative and toxic. Go ahead and say 'it's just business' all you want, but the way you approach business is disgusting."
"You chose money over morals. You took advantage of me at a young age in a new industry I knew nothing about. You are full of false promises and Unwell was a continuation of that," Earle continued in the message.
"We had a call where you threatened me to not go to war with you, because you know how sick and twisted you are," she added. At one point in the message, Earle suggested Cooper could use it against her. It has not been confirmed whether Earle actually sent the text or kept it as a draft.
"You will no longer scare or trap me... I may be petty, but I'm not malicious. If there's one thing I learned from doing business with you, it's to never do business with anyone like you," the message concluded. DailyMail.com has reached out to Cooper's representatives for comment.
Podcast exit and canceled show
The reality show marks the first time Earle has truly opened up about the tension between herself and her former boss. Last February, Earle's Hot Mess podcast dramatically left Cooper's Unwell Network, despite Earle being one of its earliest signings back in 2023.
The revelations come after Earle mocked news that Love Overboard, a dating show executive produced by Cooper, had been axed by Hulu after just one season. One day after Variety reported the cancellation, Earle attended the Los Angeles premiere of Earle Meets World and threw more shade at Cooper.
Asked by Entertainment Tonight on the red carpet how it felt to "finally address" the situation on camera, Earle took another swipe at her former boss. "I'm happy that I said my piece and whatever, but I'm happier just to focus on the premiere and having the show out there," she said. "You know, hers are getting canceled so... It is what it is," she added with a shrug and a smile.
How the feud began
Earle was among the first talents signed by Cooper as she expanded her media empire beyond her hit podcast Call Her Daddy. Earle joined Cooper's Unwell Network in August 2023 and began hosting Hot Mess, a weekly storytime podcast. The partnership did not last.
Last February, Cooper said: "Alix not being able to podcast has nothing to do with Unwell. [I don't know] why she can't/what's going on."
Things turned tense in April after Earle reshared a TikTok that branded Cooper an "ambulance chaser" and "grim reaper," a reference to the traumatic stories often shared on Cooper's podcast.
Cooper's public response
Cooper hit back with a TikTok of her own accusing Earle of posting "passive-aggressive" content. She began by admitting it was "embarrassing" to have to resort to a public call-out.
"But I am obviously seeing the videos and I'm getting tagged. I see the DMs, I see the comments. So, at this point, it just feels long overdue," Cooper said, before calling out Earle by name.
"Hey girl, the passive aggressive reposts and the likes and the commenting on things - I've got to call you out here," she continued. "You're going to need to get specific and just say what you've got to say about me. There's no NDA. No one is stopping you. Stop hiding behind other people and just say it yourself. What's the beef?"
"I'm really tired of waking up and seeing you use this fake drama to distract from other s**t going online for you. I'm not interested," Cooper added.
Cooper concluded: "I know what happened and so do you... so talk. Unless the fake narrative that you are creating happens to be way more interesting than the truth. I have nothing to hide when it comes to you and me. So unless you actually have something to say, I'm out. This is over."
Earle downplays the drama
When Earle was asked about the feud during an appearance on the Today show weeks later, she brushed it off. "Well, I'm trying to keep things pretty positive today, we don't have that much time here honestly," she said. "Why ruin such a good day with something not so great, you know? Positive vibes."
Earle insisted the feud had been exaggerated, saying: "It's exaggerated, I love everyone."
