Andrij Parekh Directs House of the Dragon Season 3 Finale

American director and cinematographer of Ukrainian-Indian origin Andrij Parekh has directed the eighth and final episode of the third season of the HBO series House of the Dragon. Parekh announced his role in the season finale on his Instagram page.

Filming for the final episode lasted 57 days under Parekh's direction. The episode brings the plot to the Battle of Tumbleton, a key event in the Westeros civil war known as the Dance of Dragons. In the book source material by George R. R. Martin, this battle leads to the near-total disappearance of dragons.

Parekh noted that the episode contains significant dramatic depth. He said that despite its military theme, the story highlights the senselessness of war.

Production team and Ukraine support

Parekh expressed gratitude to showrunner Ryan Condal, executive producer Kevin De La Noy, and HBO representative Francesca Orsi. He thanked them for their support and for giving him the opportunity to direct the episode independently.

Parekh regularly posts on social media about Russian strikes and calls on people to support Ukraine. In July, he stayed in Lviv and witnessed a Russian attack on the city.
