Liposculpture of the abdomen: what is its danger? The surgeon says

Many of us spend hours exhausting ourselves with intense gym workouts and all kinds of diets. And some, in search of a flat stomach, resort to plastic surgery. In recent years, operations of this type have gained popularity. Everything seems to be simple. In a few hours you become the owner of a beautiful waist and pronounced abs. But as they say, not everything is so simple.

This operation consists of two steps:

  1. Liposuction consists of eliminating fatty deposits.
  2. Lipofilling is the implantation of fat obtained (specially transformed) in problem areas (buttocks, etc.).

In general, this operation is called liposculpture or lipomodeling. I call it – lipocontouring – i.e. giving certain parts of the body the desired contours.

In this case, unnecessary fat in the waistline gives us the shape we need for other parts of the body. Including, with the help of this fat, you can make yourself a “press”. That is, it will not be a press in its pure form (since it consists of muscles), but its imitation. I must say that this imitation in some cases is really very good – with the help of fatty tissue, doctors draw the outlines of cubes that look like real ones. But he has a number of takeaways.

What is the danger?

Every person has a certain amount of fat cells. And it is unchanged! When we gain weight, these cells do not divide, but hypertrophy, that is, their size increases, not their number. Accordingly, if after the operation you begin to gain weight again, your stomach will begin to grow again, and cubes of fatty tissue will lie on it. How it will look, you can imagine.

In addition, fat has the ability to dissolve. And that is why often, after a few years, a second operation is necessary. And sometimes, a correction is necessary from the first six months.

There is also always the risk that the transplanted fatty tissue under the skin will become lumpy and need to be removed. That is, you will have to go through a second operation, which will inevitably lead to additional costs and disappointment due to unrealistic expectations.

Despite the fact that adipose tissue is subjected to careful processing before transplantation, it always comes into contact with the external environment, therefore there is a risk of infectious foci.

Is there an alternative?

It should always be remembered that with the help of surgery you do not develop real abdominal muscles, but only create their illusion. And that’s all ! Currently, no more effective medical alternative has been invented. But often, to create a visually beautiful belly, liposuction is enough. The abdominal muscles can hide under the fat layer. They probably won’t look as shiny as the artificial ones, but they will look natural and it will be immediately noticeable.

Conclusion: if today you want to have a beautiful belly, you have three options: follow the strictest diet and exercise regularly in the gym, create an “ideal” artificial press thanks to lipocontouring, or do liposuction and remain imperfect, but your press. Which is the best option is up to you. But before agreeing to any surgery, be sure to seek advice from several specialists. Be healthy and beautiful!
