The tone will no longer stain your clothes! 12 Useful Tips From Makeup Artists

In the cold season, the question is especially relevant: how to ensure that no traces of foundation remain on hats, scarves, jackets and coats? We decided to talk to Russian makeup artists and find out their tips for long-lasting makeup.

A pressing question, especially in the cold season, when we wrap ourselves in scarves and hats, and then find stains on them from the tone. Unfortunately, it will not be possible to completely get rid of this problem, because they have not yet invented an absolutely permanent product for the skin that would not dry it out, but it is still possible to minimize the imprints.

  • Choose a lightweight foundation – this product contains fewer color pigments, which can leave stains.
  • Favor long-lasting tones with longwear inscription. Yes, they are generally denser, but they hardly print at all.
  • Apply less makeup to areas that come into contact with clothing.
  • Use powder instead of or over foundation. The dry product will help set the foundation and make the surface of the skin less sticky.

  • For very dry skin, I recommend using a very small amount of light powder per tone so as not to dry out the skin.

  • To increase the durability of the foundation, you must ensure the hydration of the skin. Before application, use gel-textured care products that will not “dissolve” subsequent layers of makeup.
  • Before applying foundation, blot your face with a regular soft towel – this will help remove excess skin care and sebum from the skin’s surface, which can harm the durability of the foundation.

  • Choose a moisture-resistant foundation, apply it with your hands along the massage lines, wait until it hardens – this way the cream will stick to the skin more tightly. Also favor long-lasting concealers.
  • Set the foundation with transparent powder using “applying” movements. After a few minutes, tap off excess powder with a large fluffy brush. The transparent powder will create a colorless barrier, so clothing will not be able to “pick up” the color tone.

To make the tone last as long as possible, you must follow three rules. First of all – this is of course about applying primers. It evens out the skin texture and the tone is more uniform, and the product perfectly extends the life of makeup and does not leave marks on clothes.

Next important step – It’s the application of tone. No matter what type of foundation you use, the most important thing is to apply it in a thin layer. The less tone there is, the more durable the entire makeup will ultimately be. Additionally, you can mix several products, for example tone + serum or tone + cream. This “mixture” produces a very beautiful invisible veil effect, while having good hold and does not leave marks on clothes.

Third rule – use a setting spray which will fix the makeup and prevent it from being imprinted.
