Playwright and actor Billy Van Zandt was spotted running errands in Los Angeles this week while carrying household items during an afternoon out.
The 68-year-old writer wore a black collared Nike shirt and light-colored athletic shorts as he stepped out in Southern California. He was seen carrying a vacuum cleaner and a ring light during what appeared to be a productive day in the city.

Van Zandt was photographed handling his errands earlier this month in Los Angeles. The New Jersey native maintained a relaxed profile in athletic wear while carrying his equipment through the area.

Television Production and Acting Roles
In addition to writing plays, Van Zandt has enjoyed a long career in stage and screen entertainment. He helped produce a series of well-known television sitcoms, including Martin, The Hughleys, and The Wayans Bros.
As an actor, Van Zandt appeared alongside Tom Cruise and Sean Penn in the 1981 military drama film Taps. His screen credits also include parts in Jaws 2, Star Trek: The Motion Picture, and the television comedy series Daddy Dearest. Beyond his acting and television work, he has authored two best-selling memoirs.

New Jersey Heritage and Family Links
Van Zandt comes from Middletown, New Jersey, a township in Monmouth County. He is the younger brother of 75-year-old musician and actor Steven Van Zandt, who plays guitar in Bruce Springsteen's famous E Street Band and starred in the HBO drama series The Sopranos.
The two brothers were formally recognized in their hometown in April 2024, when local officials held a street dedication ceremony in Middletown to honor them.

Marriages and Family Life
Van Zandt was married to actress Adrienne Barbeau, 81, from 1992 to 2018. In 1997, at almost 52 years old, Barbeau gave birth to the couple's twin sons, William Dalton and Walker Steven, who are now 29.
Following his divorce from Barbeau, Van Zandt married actress and comedian Teresa Ganzel, 69, in 2021.

Upcoming Wedding for Music Producer Son
The writer will soon welcome a new daughter-in-law to the family, as his son William is engaged to marry model Asalia Yusupova. William, who works as a music producer, announced the engagement in June after proposing in Ojai, California.
The groom-to-be posted photos of the proposal on Instagram, writing, "Looking forward to spending forever with my best friend." Yusupova replied in the comments, "i still have butterflies."
