Streaming service Netflix has released the full trailer for The Further Mis-Adventures of Cliff Booth, a new feature film starring actor Brad Pitt in the title role.
The movie is directed by filmmaker David Fincher and features a screenplay written by Quentin Tarantino. The production serves as an official spin-off to Tarantino's acclaimed 2019 feature film Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.
In an official description published alongside the trailer video, Netflix noted that Pitt returns to his role as Booth, but emphasized that the action unfolds in 1977 within a Hollywood environment that has become completely different.
The narrative takes place approximately eight years after the events of the original 2019 picture. Booth is no longer working as a movie stuntman and has instead transitioned into a career as a Hollywood fixer, spending his time helping major film studios and high-profile celebrities deal with complex problem situations.
Media reports indicate that the movie is scheduled to premiere in IMAX cinema format on November 25 before becoming available for streaming online.
Ensemble cast and cinematic background
Alongside Pitt returning as the central character, the spin-off features an ensemble cast including Elizabeth Debicki, Scott Caan, Carla Gugino, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Peter Weller, and Timothy Olyphant.
The source highlighted that this project marks the first feature film for Fincher since his 2014 mystery thriller Gone Girl. Fincher is a prominent American filmmaker widely known for directing psychological thrillers such as Seven, Fight Club, and The Social Network, having previously collaborated with Pitt on several major Hollywood releases.
Screenwriter Tarantino wrote and directed the original Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, a period comedy drama set in 1969 Los Angeles that focused on an actor and his stunt double. Pitt earned the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his initial portrayal of Booth in that film.
The spin-off will open in IMAX format on November 25, giving audiences their first opportunity to see the return of Booth on the big screen.
