Brazilian models dominate the international fashion season

The main international Fashion Month season came to a close on Tuesday with the end of Paris Fashion Week. A new wave of Brazilian models walked the runways from New York to the French capital, bringing talent and authenticity to the shows of major brands.

Thalita Ferreira, Esther Santos, Sabryna Oliveira and Iasmin Reis, all represented by the Evol MGMT agency, spoke to CNN Brasil about their marathon of fashion shows, the backstage experience, and how they manage the chaos of the industry.

Thalita Ferreira

Thalita Ferreira, 19, was named by Vogue among the fashion industry revelations of 2026. She entered the fashion world unexpectedly, having worked in a pizzeria in São Paulo until the second half of last year.

The owner of the restaurant saw her potential and suggested she try a career in modeling. She made her international debut in March 2026, opening the Saint Laurent show in Paris.

During the most recent season, Ferreira opened and closed shows for Schiaparelli, Loewe and Jean Paul Gaultier. She also walked for Ralph Lauren, Tommy Hilfiger, Michael Kors and Burberry. Off the runway, she has appeared in campaigns for Chloé and Celine.

Ferreira said she was very proud to know her trajectory could inspire others. She added that every runway she walked and every brand she photographed for was never just about her. Ferreira said that when she saw she was inspiring children and people from her neighborhood, she thought that if she could make it from where she started, anyone else could reach that level too.

Esther Santos

Esther Santos, 21, was born and raised in Salvador, Bahia. She made her international debut two years ago when she closed the JW Anderson show in London.

Since then, Santos has walked for Gucci, Versace, Louis Vuitton, Etro and Loewe. During the current season, she opened the Cult Gaia show in New York.

Santos said she faced difficulties getting approved in casting calls in Brazil before finding success abroad. She now features in campaigns for brands including Vivara and Cult Gaia.

To handle a schedule of up to seven casting calls a day, Santos created a personal routine. She said it was important never to forget herself, focusing on a good diet, watching a movie to relax her mind, and doing proper skincare. She noted that models spent the day trying to please others, so she needed to remind her body that everything was okay.

Santos said she felt honored to open doors for others, adding that she knew she could not give up because her victory belonged to many people who saw hope in her. She said she always encouraged her friends and family, noting that investing in something was difficult but being happy was liberating, and that while business was complicated, it was important not to give up.

Sabryna Oliveira

Sabryna Oliveira, 23, is from Jaboatão dos Guararapes in Pernambuco. She was discovered during a regional music festival. Oliveira balanced modeling rehearsals with her job in a call center before deciding to dedicate herself fully to fashion. Less than a year later, she was walking the runways in Milan and Paris.

During this season, Oliveira walked for Coach, Tommy Hilfiger, Altuzarra, Carolina Herrera and Simone Rocha, and closed the Mulberry show in London. Her previous work includes shows for Alaïa, Hermès and Victoria Beckham, as well as a Versace campaign photographed by Steven Meisel.

Oliveira said her success had not fully sunk in, noting that she was now living a childhood dream she had kept in her heart. She said she still got shocked when she stopped to think about it.

To manage the chaos of the industry, Oliveira relies on her faith. She said she held onto her beliefs, maintained a positive mind, prayed, and tried to remove any negative energy. She advised that taking care of the body and soul was fundamental.

Iasmin Reis

Iasmin Reis, 19, is also from Salvador, where she lived in the Pirajá neighborhood. She was discovered at the age of 13 and went through a training process at the Fashion School before entering the international market.

She has walked the runways for Carolina Herrera, Ulla Johnson, Calvin Klein, Michael Kors and Ralph Lauren, and also participated in the Jean Paul Gaultier haute couture show. Off the runway, Reis has appeared in editorials and campaigns for Alaïa and Dolce & Gabbana.

Reis said she realized her dream had become a reality on the streets of New York. She said it happened when photographers started calling her by name after the shows. Reis said she had reposted a video of the moment on Instagram. She said she was in shock, wondering how they knew her name, and described the experience as poetry to her ears.
