Actress Hayden Panettiere has revealed that she spent part of her teens and adulthood struggling with opioid and alcohol addiction. “I was on top of the world and I screwed it up,” she confessed in an interview with People magazine.
The former “Nashville” star said he has been taking “happiness pills” since he was 15. According to whoever gave her, her pills were supposed to “bring her to life during interviews”.
“I had no idea it was inappropriate or what door would open for me when it came to my addiction,” she explained.

The actress added that her alcoholism had progressed to a scenario where she would wake up shaking from withdrawal and “could only work with a sip of alcohol.”

In 2018, Panettiere decided to send Kaya to her father’s home in Ukraine as she struggled with her addictions. “It was the hardest thing I had to do. But I wanted to be a good mother – and sometimes that means leaving the kids,” she said.
