Despised, Regina Duarte turns to Our Lady: “Moment of precision”

Despite being publicly ignored by former TV colleagues, the actress remains loyal to Bolsonaro and promotes right-wing candidates

In an Instagram post, Regina Duarte posed with an image of Nossa Senhora Aparecida in her arms.

Days earlier, the actress experienced one of the greatest constraints of her life. A situation unimaginable until recently for one of the most famous artists in the country.

At the Sesc 24 de Maio theater in downtown São Paulo, she was ignored by other actors who went to see the play “Virgínia”, a solo by Cláudia Abreu.

The silent protest came from those who no longer recognize her as a professional colleague and reference in dramatic art.

The reason is well known: Regina’s unlimited support for Jair Bolsonaro and other right-wing politicians on the ideological spectrum.

She ended up being seen as a pariah by the absolute majority of the artistic class, outraged by the president’s attacks and the dismantling of public policies for the audiovisual sector.

Federal Government Secretary of Culture for 77 days, in 2020, Regina was not transferred to Cinemateca Brasileira, as promised by Bolsonaro.

Even so, the actress continues to be an energetic defender of the Bolsonarist leadership. Also, she uses her influence on her online, where she has nearly 3 million followers, to promote the right-wing idols.

Away from TV since 2018’s ‘Tempo de Amar’, Regina Duarte, 75, proves that she won’t self-isolate to avoid other delicate situations.

On Wednesday (9) she went to the Sala São Paulo to attend a concert by the Franco-Georgian pianist Khatia Buniatishvili. Indifferent to her hostile looks, the actress threw smiles at those who greeted her.
