Daniella Monet, who starred in ‘Brilliant Victoria’, exposes Dan Schneider and recalls scenes that are questionable for the age of actresses

Nickelodeon remains shrouded in controversy. After Jennette McCurdy, known for her role as Sam Puckett in the series Icarly And Sam and Gattodenounce alleged corruption by the broadcaster to silence her about her experience, including the abuse of a man she calls “The Creator” in her book, other such accusations permeate the channel.
Daniella Monetwho starred Brilliant victory, has also decided to unmask the broadcaster, in a report published on the Insider website. According to her, Dan Schneider, creator of the series and head of youth productions such as Zoey 101, iCarly And Drake and Josh, sexualized underage actresses. The information comes from Variety.
Although the actress acknowledges Brilliant victory calling her “funny, silly, friendly and accommodating”, she complains about questionable scenes. “I wish certain things, like, didn’t have to be so sexualized? Yeah, 100%,” she says.
According to Daniella, her dissatisfaction isn’t new to Nickelodeon, as she complained to the net about a scene where her character eats pickles while putting on lip gloss, but it was ignored and the scene aired.
The actress also complains about the clothes chosen by the director, claiming that “they were not suitable for age” and “I would not wear them even today as an adult”. Additionally, she emphasizes the male dominance involved in the series.
Speaking to Insider, Russell Hicks, former president of content development and production at Nickelodeon, defended Schneider, stating that his actions were not illegal and that parents and guardians accompanied the actors to the set.
It is worth mentioning that Dan Schneider was fired from the network in 2018 after suspicions of sexual harassment and inappropriate behavior with teenage actresses. However, at the time, Nick announced that the decision was a mutual agreement, due to creative differences in the new productions that Schneider’s company, Schneider’s Bakery, was producing. “As several Schneider’s Bakery productions are nearing completion, both sides agreed that the time has come to pursue other opportunities and projects,” the channel said.
