Spanish singers David Bisbal and Rosa López shared an emotional reunion backstage at a concert in Cádiz, 25 years after first meeting on the music talent show Operación Triunfo.

The pair shared a warm embrace behind the scenes after performing on the same concert bill in the Andalusian city over the weekend.
The meeting comes ahead of the 25th anniversary in October of the inaugural season of Operación Triunfo. First broadcast in the early 2000s, the television contest became a major fixture in Spanish entertainment and launched the careers of several prominent recording artists.
López, a singer from Granada, won the first series of the competition and represented Spain at the Eurovision Song Contest in 2002. She has maintained a close friendship with Bisbal across two and a half decades since their time living together inside the show's academy.
Backstage reunion and shared message
López expressed her excitement days before arriving in Cádiz for her concert tour, telling followers that the show would bring a long-awaited reunion with Bisbal. She later posted a video on social media showing their embrace backstage.
Writing alongside the video, López said that it was always a joy for them to meet up. She noted that she loved seeing their respective teams meet and greet one another, adding that Bisbal was surrounded by incredible people who reflected his own character.
López also described spending private time with Bisbal afterwards, sharing that the two spent time talking, laughing, and catching up. She concluded her message by telling Bisbal that she loved him very much and that seeing him was always beautiful.
Bisbal republished the video on his own social media accounts, returning the affectionate message and public gesture of friendship.

Summer festival tours and upcoming releases
Both artists are currently spending the summer months touring across Spain, traveling extensive road miles to deliver live performances at local festivals and outdoor town celebrations.
López is currently touring with a stage show built around her latest studio album, titled 12 diamantes negros.
Bisbal is managing a demanding summer work schedule. Alongside his current festival tour, he is preparing for the release of his new album, Eternos, on October 2, which will be accompanied by its own dedicated concert tour.
Bisbal has also been balancing his tour commitments with a television role as a judge on OT USA. The role has required him to make regular transatlantic flights to the United States while continuing his live performances across Spain.
