“The feeling of being an orphan is very great,” says Beth Goulart of her mother’s death

Nicette Bruno died in December 2020 from complications due to covid-19

Beth Goulart lost her father, Paulo Goulart, in 2014. Since she, her mother (Nicette Bruno) and her brothers (Bárbara Bruno and Paulo Goulart Filho) are spiritualists, they gathered around him in a prayer wheel.

to the newspaper Extra, the actress said she felt the “moment when the soul broke away from the body” of her father. In 2020, when Nicette died of covid-19, a month before the vaccine arrived in Brazil, the farewell couldn’t happen the same way.

With Nicette in the ICU, intubated and unconscious, the family had to say goodbye from a distance. “I said, ‘Mom, you were wonderful, if you go, go, go in peace,'” she said.

After her mother died, Beth had to deal with the feeling of loneliness. “I’m learning to be a mother to myself,” she said. The pain became the inspiration for her to write a book.

The original idea was that the work was written by the two, sharing professional and personal experiences. Six months after losing her mother, he decided to go back to the book and try to summarize what was going on inside of her at the time.

“Losing a mother is too strong. We lose the greatest reference, the feeling of being orphaned is very great. You beat the game and you have to find out how it goes from now on.”

“Who am I? Who do I want to be? What are my choices? I took an inner dive of self-knowledge, self-affirmation and discovery of new possibilities. With dad’s death, we starred in a play. Mom has generated a book, “he added.
