Prince Harry on moving with Meghan Markle and giving up royal duties: ‘Circumstances forced us to move life to the States’

Today, everyone is discussing and quoting Prince Harry’s interview for NBC. It was recorded in the Netherlands, where the prince is at the Invincible Games. In a conversation with journalist Oda Kotb – which, by the way, took place at the shooting range – the son of Prince Charles and Princess Diana discussed, it seems, everything that fans of the British royal family have wanted to know for so long. We published the first part of Harry’s quotes here.

In contrast to the kind words about Queen Elizabeth II and the memories of his mother, Princess Diana, Harry did not answer questions about other relatives. The presenter Kotb tried to ask him if he missed his family – his father Prince Charles and brother Prince William, but he evaded the answer and made it clear that the family for him was Megan and Archie with Lilibet. Then the presenter asked if he felt peaceful in these two years in a new place.

I don’t know if there are people who feel truly at peace,” he replied. “What I’ve learned for myself over the years is that for me, healing is helping other people.

Speaking about the change of activities after moving to the US and resigning from royal powers, Harry admitted that little has changed for him and Meghan:

Well, I think the priorities have remained about the same. Especially from my wife’s point of view. This is the life she signed up for and that we, as a couple, intend to live forever. Circumstances forced us to move this life in the service to the States, but we continue to do what we did before. It’s just that this restart was given to us with great difficulty.

On the eve of this interview, it became known that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex received an invitation to events dedicated to the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee in June. Meghan and Harry may appear at family events, including the traditional greeting on the balcony of Buckingham Palace and a celebratory service at St Paul’s Cathedral. And the media reported that the couple had promised the Queen that she would be able to hug her great-grandchildren Archie and Lilibet “in the very near future.” But for this, the couple will have to urgently resolve the issue with their security in the UK, because Harry even sued the Home Office, claiming that he does not feel that his family is safe there. Asked by reporters if he and Meghan are going to anniversary events, Harry said:

I do not know yet. There are a lot of issues related to security and everything else. I’m just trying to get my kids to meet her.
