Supermodel Gigi Hadid dropped her five-year-old daughter Khai off for her second day of school on Sept. 10 before heading straight to the Tommy Hilfiger Spring 2027 runway show at New York Fashion Week.
Speaking in an exclusive interview on Live From E! Stream: Tommy Hilfiger Spring 2027 Runway Show, the 30-year-old runway star offered a rare glimpse into her family life and explained how her young daughter is already following in her footsteps.
Hadid explained that her daughter now understands her career and frequently puts on modeling displays at home. She said Khai creates her own catwalk routines and enlists her mother to act as security during the performances.

"I dropped my daughter off at her second day of school this morning and came straight here," Hadid said during the broadcast on Sept. 10. "So it's definitely a new version of Fashion Week for me."
Reflecting on her long history with the designer, Hadid shared that returning to walk in his presentation carries deep sentimental value. "But to come back to do the Tommy show," she added, "is so nostalgic and means a lot."
Hadid credited Hilfiger with setting a positive atmosphere across his brand over their years of collaboration. "Starting the kindness from the top trickles down," Hadid said of Hilfiger. "I think that people can feel that from the world that he's created, and I am really lucky and proud that I've gotten to be part of that."
She also discussed how Khai views her work. "She definitely understands the job now," Hadid noted. "She loves a Tommy show, something that's uplifting and fun, and she's very creative. So anything with not just fashion, but drawing, color, fabric, and performance, she loves that."
Hadid revealed that Khai has started practicing her own runway walks at home. "She gets into her own little catwalks," Hadid revealed. "But then she'll be like, 'Mom, you be security.' So then sometimes I pretend to be the security at the top of the runway."
Travis Kelce Brand Ambassador
Hadid remains a regular presence on Hilfiger's runways and was among the first to celebrate when Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, who is married to her best friend Taylor Swift, joined the brand as a global brand ambassador.
When the fashion label announced the partnership on Instagram on March 30, Hadid showed her support in the comments section, writing, "Yess boys !!!!!"
The official Tommy Hilfiger account responded directly to her message, writing back, "@gigihadid look at them go."

Hadid previously reflected on her professional relationship with the designer in an interview with WWD in December 2025. "For over four decades, Tommy has been an iconic force, shaping the essence of classic American cool," she told WWD at the time. "His visionary approach has pushed the boundaries of the fashion industry, transforming his namesake label into a global cultural touchstone."
"But Tommy's impact reaches far beyond design," she added. "A fun, generous and genuinely kind collaborator, he leads with both creativity and conviction. He brings the energy and dedication needed to drive meaningful work, and he's made a difference in the lives of many, including my own, always leading with purpose and heart."
The partnership between Hilfiger and Hadid dates back nearly a decade. The duo launched their joint Tommy x Gigi clothing line in 2016, blending Hilfiger's signature preppy aesthetic with Hadid's personal style.
Speaking on Good Morning America when the collection launched, Hilfiger praised Hadid's work ethic and massive global reach. "She has an amazing sense of style," Hilfiger said on Good Morning America at the time. "But at the same time as being a supermodel, she's probably the most important social media star in the world. She has more followers and more fans across the globe than anyone else."
Hilfiger emphasized that Hadid maintained a grounded attitude despite her massive fame. "She also has her feet on the ground," he added. "They say a lot of models are this and that. This girl has a brain. She's polite, she's respectful."
Hadid noted that the collection reflected her personal taste, combining West Coast influences with traditional East Coast styling. "They're all very much my style, and lot of it was obviously looking at vintage Tommy pieces that we love and bringing back certain things," Hadid added. "It's a really great mix of the classic East Coast style of Tommy Hilfiger and my West Coast style. But all of them are really me."
