Four Seasons lead singer Frankie Valli has denied claims that he is retiring from music after his brother Bobby Valli incorrectly announced that the 92-year-old performer was stepping away from the stage.

Valli addressed the retirement rumors directly in an August 14 Instagram post alongside a photograph of himself performing on stage. "In spite of what you might have heard," Valli wrote, "I am not retired. - Frankie."

The statement from the "Can't Take My Eyes Off You" singer came after his younger brother Bobby Valli publicly posted that Frankie would be retiring following his long career in show business. In an August 12 Facebook message, which has since been edited according to Deadline, Bobby paid tribute to his brother's achievements.

"He has millions of fans who love him dearly. He is now 92 years old. In his illustrious career, he has sold over 100 million records, R&R Hall of Fame," Bobby wrote in the original post. "He will now retire. We will always have special memories of Frankie Valli. He has reached a place in his life where his family is there to love, cherish and to be there for him. We appreciate your love and concern."

However, Bobby retracted the claim two days later in another Facebook message posted on August 14. "I apologize. I was misinformed," Bobby wrote. "I was under the impression my brother Frankie was retiring. Hoping for him to have a speedy recovery to continue his illustrious career!"

Bobby reiterated his mistake in a follow-up post, criticizing commentators who sought to turn his error into what he called an "earth shattering controversy." After clarifying once more that Frankie is "not retiring," Bobby added, "If I mislead or offended anyone once again I apologize."

Tour Cancellations and Health Concerns
Concerns over Valli's health first surfaced in May when the singer announced he was calling off the remaining 2026 dates of his farewell tour with the Four Seasons, titled The Last Encores, in order to prioritize his health.

"I'm so sorry to disappoint the folks who have purchased tickets to my shows but I have decided to take the rest of the year off from touring to focus on my health," Valli shared in an Instagram post on May 29. "I'm looking forward to getting healthy and seeing you all again soon. Thank you for all your good wishes."

Public concern grew further after Page Six published photographs on August 10 showing Valli appearing in public for the first time in months, sparking additional fan speculation regarding his physical condition.

Despite the ongoing speculation, Valli has continued to express his passion for live performance. In a June 9 Instagram post, the "Big Girls Don't Cry" singer shared his enduring commitment to his craft. "The stage has always been home," Valli wrote. "Over 60 years of performing, and the energy never changed."

Sustained Legacy of the Four Seasons
Valli achieved international fame as the iconic frontman of the Four Seasons, scoring legendary hits including "Rag Doll," "Big Girls Don't Cry," and his solo track "Can't Take My Eyes Off You." The group was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame after selling more than 100 million records worldwide.

The story of Valli and his group's rise to stardom inspired the 2005 Broadway musical Jersey Boys, which was later adapted into a 2014 feature film. Valli remains active in music after more than six decades in show business.
