Warner Bros. Discovery disclosed details about the feature film based on Game of Thrones in an investor activity report, revealing a release planned after 2027. The company indicated that the movie will hit global theaters no earlier than 2028.
Aegon's Conquest Story and Production
The project, titled Aegon's Conquest, is based on George Martin's novel series A Song of Ice and Fire. The story follows the first conqueror, Aegon I Targaryen, who sets out to conquer Westeros 300 years before the events of Game of Thrones.
Beau Willimon, known for the television series House of Cards and Andor, is writing the screenplay. Warner Bros. Discovery has not revealed who will direct the film or star in the lead roles.
