Georgina Rodriguez wore high jewellery estimated to be worth £56 million to her intimate home wedding to Portuguese football icon Cristiano Ronaldo in Cascais, Portugal. The couple, aged 32 and 41 respectively, exchanged vows in the living room of their newly built estate on the tenth anniversary of the day they first met while Rodriguez was working as a shop assistant at a Gucci retail boutique in Madrid, Spain.

While the ceremony was intentionally kept quiet and modest, the bride's jewellery selection was exceptionally glamorous. Rodriguez wore a complete Chopard Garden of Kalahari high jewellery suite featuring a D-flawless 50-carat brilliant-cut diamond necklace, matching bracelet, earrings, and ring. She paired the multimillion-pound gems with a simple sheer white shirt and skirt from Italian luxury fashion house Gucci, while Ronaldo, the former Real Madrid star who currently plays in Saudi Arabia, wore a custom light beige cotton suit over a plain T-shirt and loafers.

Chopard Garden of Kalahari Diamond Suite

Nilesh Rakholia, the founder of jewellery brand Abelini, explained that the extraordinary collection worn by Rodriguez represents far more than a typical high-value diamond set. All of the major stones in the suite originated from a single Type IIa rough diamond crafted by Swiss luxury jeweler Chopard over more than 3,200 hours of painstaking artisanal craftsmanship.

The couple, aged 41 and 32 respectively, married at their new home in Portugal on the tenth anniversary of the day they first met while Georgina was working as a shop assistant at Gucci

Across the complete Garden of Kalahari set, publicly disclosed specifications total more than 300 carats of unique diamonds, including over 200 carats worn around her neck alone. Rakholia noted that previous published estimates place the complete suite at approximately $75 million, or roughly £56 million. Although Chopard has never publicly released an official retail price, Rakholia stated that the £56 million figure is plausible given the rare provenance, brand heritage, and presence of multiple D-flawless stones exceeding 20 carats each.

The footballer shared that he and Georgina had tied the knot after ten years together by sharing a snap of their wedding bands on Instagram

"What she wore isn't simply a very expensive diamond necklace," Rakholia said. "All of those major stones began life within the same extraordinary rough diamond, and that provenance is a huge part of what makes the collection so special." In pictures published by Vogue, Rodriguez was seen wearing the matching Garden of Kalahari bracelet during a morning workout session with Ronaldo on the day of the nuptials. Rakholia remarked that wearing a bracelet of such magnitude during exercise demonstrates how comfortably she wears serious high jewellery.

Rakholia highlighted the striking contrast between the understated home setting and the ultra-exclusive gems. "That contrast is probably my favourite thing about the whole look," Rakholia said. "She stripped almost everything else back. They married in their living room, she wore this beautifully clean white Gucci look and the wedding rings themselves were simple gold bands. Then she put more than 200 carats of diamonds around her neck. She essentially took all of the grandeur people expected from a Ronaldo wedding and concentrated it into the jewellery."

She isn't shy showing off her huge diamond engagement ring either and it regularly features on her socials

Intimate Home Vows and Church Blessing

The couple chose to hold the civil ceremony at the dining table in their Cascais residence, a coastal resort town near Lisbon where they regularly share everyday meals with their five children. Speaking to Vogue for the magazine's Summer digital issue, Rodriguez, who stars in the Netflix reality series I Am Georgina, explained that she wanted a private family moment rather than the lavish castle wedding she once envisioned as a young girl.

"We've chosen to do it in the living room of our house here where we have breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and where we live the reality of our lives," Rodriguez told Vogue. "In 30 years' time I want the children to think, something wonderful happened at this table: the wedding vows of our parents." She added that while she once dreamt of carriages, castles, and diamond crowns, she now preferred an intimate ceremony at home, though she promised the couple will host a larger wedding celebration for extended family and friends in the future.

Following the civil service at home, the newlyweds drove an hour to the Shrine of Our Lady of Fatima, a famous Catholic pilgrimage site in central Portugal. A priest delivered a religious blessing at the local church, where Rodriguez was seen shedding tears of joy. The bride and groom chose matching Gucci attire as a full circle gesture to honour their first meeting in Spain ten years ago, with their children also dressed in coordinated outfits. Rodriguez noted that she did not want the family to wear elaborate costumes for such a simple day.

Pre-Nuptial Agreement and Legal Certificate

Legal records confirm that Ronaldo and Rodriguez took steps to safeguard their individual finances prior to exchanging vows. The couple signed a formal pre-nuptial agreement on August 10 at a public notary office in Lisbon, exactly one day before their wedding ceremony on August 11. The agreement defines their property regime and stipulates that their pre-nuptial assets will remain entirely separate.

Official documentation published late on Thursday by Portuguese newspaper Jornal de Noticias revealed that registrar Maria Manuel Ferreira de Campos Folhadela de Oliveira travelled south from Porto to Cascais to conduct the civil service. The marriage certificate lists only four official witnesses in attendance alongside the couple's five children: Rodriguez's sister Ivana, Ronaldo's long-time friend Miguel Paixao, and Spanish couple Jose Rodriguez Sangil and his wife Monica Gonzalez Martinez.

Family Reaction and Absence Reports

The private nature of the wedding meant that several close family members were absent from the ceremony. Ronaldo's mother, Dolores Aveiro, and his three siblings, Hugo, Elma, and Katia, did not attend the civil service in Cascais. Local Portuguese media reported that the family was informed of the marriage just moments before it took place. On the TVI television programme Dois às 10, presenter Cristina Ferreira suggested the last-minute notification and absence could cause tension within the family, while co-presenter Claudio Ramos expressed hope that social media speculation would not cause genuine sadness.

Despite reports of surprise, Dolores Aveiro publicly offered her blessing by posting a heart emoji on Ronaldo's official social media announcement, which showed the couple's simple gold wedding bands captioned "C❤️G". Sister Katia, who had travelled from Brazil to Madeira, also posted a heart emoji. A representative for Ronaldo confirmed the civil union in Cascais, which took place exactly one year after the couple announced their engagement. The couple share daughters Alana and Bella, alongside twins Eva Maria and Mateo born via surrogate, and Ronaldo's eldest son Cristiano Jr. Their infant son Angel, twin to Bella, tragically passed away shortly after birth. With no honeymoon planned, the couple immediately returned to Saudi Arabia, where Ronaldo plays professional football for Al-Nassr.
