Harriet Cowan, the 25-year-old breakout star of the hit Amazon Prime reality series Clarkson's Farm, has purchased her own £1.7 million farm in rural Derbyshire.
The television personality and influencer completed the purchase of Flatts Farm, a 100-acre prime livestock grazing property in Darley Bridge, located roughly 115 miles north of the Cotswolds estate where she rose to national prominence.
Cowan plans to move into the property this autumn alongside her boyfriend, fellow farmer James Booth.
The sale represents the fulfillment of a childhood dream for Cowan, who achieved her goal of owning land just seven years after leaving school following a rapid rise to television fame and social media stardom.
Flatts Farm was put on the market for £1,765,000 following the death last year of previous owner David Gadsby, whose family had managed the estate for more than 80 years.
A member of the Gadsby family confirmed that Cowan is the buyer but noted that the transaction is not yet completely finalized, while a local property source confirmed that contracts have been exchanged with completion expected in late September.
The farm is situated on the outskirts of Darley Bridge, a village located between Matlock and Bakewell in the Derbyshire Dales, situated just minutes from the Peak District National Park.
It sits less than a half-hour drive from the Belper cattle farm run by Cowan's father, Eddy, and stepmother, Vicky.

The historic agricultural property features a spacious three-bedroom detached farmhouse set within an attractive garden, alongside a separate two-bedroom stone barn conversion.
The main estate spans approximately 75 acres of pasture land, with Cowan securing an additional 32 acres through a separate negotiation.
Estate agency particulars describe Flatts Farm as a well-established livestock and dairy farm offering flexible accommodation and excellent pasture land.
The holding was run successfully as a dairy unit for four decades before recently transitioning into suckler beef production under its previous owner.
Cowan plans to establish a cattle-fattening operation at the site, mirroring the business structure of her father's farm.
While her father supplies meat to a local butcher shop operated by her uncle, Cowan intends to open her own butcher shop directly on the farm property.
Speaking to the Daily Telegraph to promote her new book, Life on the Farm, Cowan revealed her purchase, explaining that the 100-acre site in Darley Dale is located roughly 20 minutes north of her family's land.
Cowan outlined her commercial vision for the livestock, noting that she plans to raise Belgian Blues alongside breeds such as Aberdeen Angus and Holstein Friesians, fattening the cattle to 18 months before sending them to market.
"I don't know if that's where the money is. There isn't really money anywhere [in the farming sector]. But it's what I know," she said regarding her plans.
Rise to fame on Clarkson's Farm
Cowan's national profile expanded rapidly after she joined the cast for the fourth series of Clarkson's Farm in 2025.
Production executives behind the Amazon Prime series headhunted Cowan to serve as a temporary stand-in at the 1,000-acre Diddly Squat Farm in Oxfordshire while regular cast member Kaleb took a break.
Clarkson's Farm, which documents former Top Gear presenter Jeremy Clarkson's efforts to run a working farm in the Cotswolds, draws more than four million viewers per episode.
Clarkson praised Cowan's intense work ethic during filming, describing her as a "pocket-sized powerhouse" and noting that he rarely saw her sit still.
Cowan recalled that working on the show was demanding but enjoyable, involving early morning checks and cleaning duties for pigs, sheep, and cows alongside Clarkson.
"I treat Jeremy as a fellow farmer, he's just a normal guy and he's no star in my eyes but clearly is in others," Cowan told the Daily Mail. "What you see with him is what you get, but he is brilliant, and he has been great to me."
Background and transition from nursing
Before embarking on full-time agriculture, Cowan earned a nursing degree from the University of Derby after her stepmother insisted on a professional fallback option.
She completed her clinical training during the latter years of the Covid pandemic while simultaneously working early mornings, late evenings, and weekends on her family's farm.
Cowan ultimately left community nursing to pursue farming full-time, explaining that she felt more excited to drive a tractor after a shift than to continue in healthcare.
She also sought independence from her family's 100-acre operation in Belper, which was originally purchased decades ago by her grandparents and is currently managed by her father.
"You feel like you're being watched by your dad a bit here, and I know that James's farm will always be his," Cowan said, referring to her 28-year-old boyfriend James Booth, a third-generation farmer whom she met as a teenager at the Belper Young Farmers Club.
Her older sister, Izzy, also works in the agricultural sector on a farm located on the nearby Chatsworth Estate.
Social media footprint and educational mission
Cowan has amassed nearly 1.5 million followers across TikTok and Instagram, using her online platforms to challenge traditional perceptions of the typical life and look of a farmer.
Despite her glamorous image, sporting long blonde hair and brightly polished nails, Cowan emphasizes that farming requires relentless physical labor.
She receives around 1,000 direct messages daily, including roughly 500 marriage proposals from male fans alongside inquiries from young girls inspired by her work.
"I thought, well, if a young girl sees it and thinks that's what she'd like to do, she might see me and go, 'If Harriet can do it, I can as well'," Cowan said.
She plans to host educational visits at Flatts Farm for children, particularly those from urban areas, to teach them about food production and livestock farming.
"At the end of the day, that's how it's been for centuries. We eat the food we grow, and that makes us grow. That's what I want to show kids. That this is real life. This is farming," she stated.
Cowan also uses her platform to highlight mental health challenges caused by isolation in farming, a topic she previously discussed on camera with Clarkson.
"Social media helps. You can meet people, see people, and discover that you're all going through the same thing. The same drought, the same weather, the same harvest. You're not alone," she said.
Community reaction and future outlook
In June of last year, Cowan participated in a talk and meet-and-greet session with public supporters during an Open Farm Sunday event at Croots Farm in Duffield, Derbyshire.
Residents in the picturesque village of Darley Bridge, which links across the River Derwent to the tourist destination of Darley Dale, have expressed approval that Flatts Farm will remain an active agricultural property.
A local resident noted that villagers are pleased the land will continue as a working farm, but emphasized that locals do not want excessive media publicity surrounding the quiet area.
Cowan remains committed to her career choice, declaring that she intends to farm until the day she dies.
