Jessica Alba and her 18-year-old daughter Honor Marie Warren got matching fine-line eye tattoos on their left wrists to mark Honor's birthday on June 7.

The 45-year-old actress and her eldest daughter visited celebrity fine-line tattoo artist Daniel "Winterstone" Winter at his studio in Los Angeles for the inkings.

Winter, the 44-year-old owner of Winterstone Tattoo Studio, confirmed the session to the Daily Mail on Wednesday. "It was great giving Honor her first tattoo on her actual 18th birthday, and matching with her mom," Winter said.

The tattoo artist explained that the eye design was a collaborative effort between all three of them. "The eye was a combined process we all designed but, in the end, it was my creation that landed as the tattoo," Winter said, adding that he has worked with Alba many times and expects to do so again in the future.

Jessica Alba secretly got matching tattoos with her daughter Honor Marie Warren less than a month after she became a legal adult at 18 years old, the Daily Mail discovered

Winter declined to reveal the specific personal meaning behind the matching tattoos, stating he would leave that to the privacy of Alba and her daughter. He added that tattooing Alba is always a great experience, describing her as a kind and lovely human.

Eye tattoos are traditionally associated with protection, awareness, guidance and intuition. Honor later shared a photo of the inkings on social media, showing the mother and daughter holding hands alongside the caption: "Me x Mama."

The 44-year-old Winterstone Tattoo Studio owner told the Daily Mail on Wednesday: 'It was great giving Honor her first tattoo on her actual 18th birthday, and matching with her mom. I can't share the actual meaning I'll leave that to the privacy of Jessica and her daughter'

Representatives for Alba did not immediately respond to a request for comment from the Daily Mail.

Alba marked her daughter's 18th birthday on June 7 with a heartfelt message to her 50.6 million social media followers, writing that she could not be more proud of the young woman Honor has become.

"As you step into adulthood, part of me wants to hold you close forever and keep you safe," Alba wrote. "But an even bigger part wants to watch you fly - to explore this world and discover everything that calls to your soul. And through it all, I will always be here. Whether you need comforting when [you're sick], a hug or miss home, I'll jump on a plane to see you - I'm here always."

Business Inspiration and Screen Career

Honor's birth in 2008 originally inspired Alba to co-found consumer goods brand The Honest Company in 2011. Based in Los Angeles, the consumer products business focuses on non-toxic baby products, beauty items and household goods, expanding from a $6 million startup into a $509 million global business.

This fall, Honor will begin pursuing a degree in English and film studies at her father Cash Warren's alma mater, Yale University, after graduating from Crossroads School on May 28

Alba and Cash Warren also share two younger children, 15-year-old daughter Haven and eight-year-old son Hayes. Alba and Warren ended their 16-year marriage in divorce in February.

In her professional acting life, Alba recently noted that she is thrilled to be part of Netflix's reimagining of the 2004 romantic comedy 13 Going on 30 alongside Jennifer Garner, Judy Greer, Emily Bader and Tim Meadows. Her upcoming film projects include Justin Chadwick's spy thriller The Mark, Robert Rodriguez's spy thriller Incógnito, Dakota Johnson's directorial debut A Tree is Blue and Bobby Moresco's sports car biopic Maserati: The Brothers.

Alba first achieved international recognition playing genetically enhanced supersoldier Max Guevara in James Cameron's science-fiction drama series Dark Angel, which aired on Fox for two seasons between 2000 and 2002.
