Singer Jesy Nelson introduced her new boyfriend Ben Davies to the entertainment world on Tuesday night as the couple enjoyed a date night at the National Television Awards.

The 35-year-old pop star had walked the red carpet solo earlier in the evening before television cameras inside the ceremony captured a quick flash of Davies sitting next to her. Davies watched proudly as her documentary, Jesy Nelson: Life After Little Mix, was shortlisted for an NTA Award in the Authored Documentary category.

Nelson wore a Jessica Rabbit style black dress featuring a plunging sweetheart neckline, matching long black PVC gloves, and a thigh-high split as she posed for photos on the red carpet.

Nelson has been praised for helping to persuade the government to announce a national rollout to screen newborns for spinal muscular atrophy (SMA). Her 16-month-old twins, Ocean and Story, were diagnosed with the rare genetic condition in January.

The public appearance comes weeks after Nelson hard launched her relationship with Davies on Instagram at the end of August. She posted a photo of Davies driving a Range Rover while holding her hand. Davies was dressed in black with his tattooed arms on display, while only Nelson's arm was visible in the image.

The upload marked the first time Davies' face appeared on her profile after she previously teased their romance on Instagram Stories, posting a photo of a man's tattooed arm during drinks at a rooftop garden. The couple also recently enjoyed a date in Soho where they could not keep their hands off one another.

Incidents and Relationship History

Reports emerged earlier this month regarding a disrupted date night in London. After a quiet trip to My Old Dutch Pancake House, the couple visited Madison in St Paul's bar, where an altercation reportedly took place.

A video obtained by The Sun showed a large group involved in a brawl after Davies was reportedly getting in people's faces. The situation escalated with men shouting at bouncers before the group was asked to leave. An insider stated Nelson tried to de-escalate the situation, while Davies was described as coming across like, "Do you know who I am?" Representatives for Nelson were contacted by the Daily Mail at the time of the report.

Nelson began dating Davies following her split from her ex-fiance Zion Foster, who is also now in a new relationship. The split occurred shortly after twins Ocean and Story were diagnosed with Spinal Muscular Atrophy Type 1 in January.

The singer, 35, who has been dating Ben following her split from her ex Zion, previously posted a picture of him driving a Range Rover while holding her hand

Speaking in her Amazon Prime documentary, Nelson addressed the split in detail:

"It's a very traumatic thing that we've both been through. I think it's quite inevitable for things like this to happen to couples I don't think it's a shock that we've broken up..."

She added that the hardship affected their relationship dynamic:

"You'll either be a team or it'll tear you apart and unfortunately I feel that's what it's done to me and Zion. We still get on, there's not bad feeling. My main priority is them. I just want to be the best mum with the best energy and positivity possible..."

Jesy split from fiancé Zion shortly after they announced their twins' diagnosis of rare muscle-wasting condition Spinal Muscular Atrophy Type 1 (SMA)

Nelson explained that they were coping with the situation differently, leading to their decision to separate:

"The house was not like that when we were together. We’re both dealing with this situation completely differently, and together we were clashing. I decided we would be better off apart. It’s hard. It’s just me and mum now."

Spinal Muscular Atrophy Campaign

Spinal Muscular Atrophy Type 1 is a rare muscle-wasting condition that can leave babies unable to sit up, crawl, or walk. In severe cases, it stops infants from breathing or swallowing. However, treatment can significantly improve outcomes if the condition is identified early enough.

Newborn screening operates via a simple heel prick blood test conducted shortly after birth.

Last month, Jesy teased a look at Ben as she showed the tattooed arm of a man in the far left-hand side of an image posted to Jesy's Instagram Stories as the pair enjoyed drinks in a swanky rooftop garden

Nelson expressed pride that her daughters' experience contributed to national policy change:

"I feel super proud that my girls' story has been a part of change and I can't wait when they're a bit older and they understand to be able to tell them that. I've always said I want this to be their little superpower and I feel now, when they understand, I can let them know that."

Reflecting on an earlier decision in Parliament last month where a nationwide rollout was initially declined, Nelson recalled fighting back tears during interviews:

"I'm going to be completely honest, I was absolutely fuming. I feel so let down."

Speaking to the Daily Mail about her campaign efforts, Nelson said:

"I'm such a big manifester. I really believe if you put your mind to it and you put it out there you can make it happen. But I think obviously when I went to Parliament and they said that they weren't going to roll it out across the whole UK, I was devastated. I was absolutely devastated."
