Kelly Osbourne has condemned Twisted Sister singer Dee Snider after he claimed her late father Ozzy Osbourne rarely wrote any of his own lyrics.
The 41-year-old former reality star responded on Instagram Stories on Aug. 14, 2026, calling Snider's comments classless and an attempt to diminish the legacy of the Black Sabbath frontman, who died in July 2025.
Osbourne posted that her father's legacy as a musician, songwriter, singer, and bandleader speaks for itself. She wrote that his friends, co-workers, loved ones, and millions of fans buying his records know what he contributed and that his legacy will live on eternally.
In a follow-up post, Osbourne called out Snider directly, writing that his last hit occurred when she was born over 40 years ago. She added that it was classless to try to diminish her father when he is no longer here to challenge allegations, particularly when Snider cannot claim to know the private reality of his life from the outside or from hearsay from a delusional man with a vendetta, stating they were maybe in the same room once if even at all.
Osbourne, who recently penned a 46th anniversary letter to her mother Sharon Osbourne and late father, stated that while her father's career spanned nearly six decades from defining heavy metal with Black Sabbath to building a solo career, Snider was talking about her father as simply a way of getting people talking about him again. She added that her father does not need Snider's approval to establish his place in music history.
Snider appeared to respond on X on Aug. 14, posting that he has nothing but love for Ozzy Osbourne, who was always lovely to him, and adding that Black Sabbath changed his life, though as a songwriter he can be touchy about credit and royalties.
Osbourne, who shares three-year-old son Sidney with ex Sid Wilson, replied on Instagram Story that Snider was offering a backhanded compliment dressed up as nothing but love, followed, predictably, by another use of her father's name to get attention. Quoting Will Smith's words from the 2022 Oscars, she told Snider to keep her father's name out of his mouth, calling him a bitter old man seeking relevance.
The back-and-forth began on Aug. 12 when Snider responded to an X post noting that bassist Bob Daisley had written many of Ozzy Osbourne's lyrics. Snider claimed Daisley wrote all the lyrics, stating Geezer Butler wrote all of Black Sabbath's lyrics, Daisley wrote lyrics for Osbourne's first two solo albums, and Lemmy also wrote lyrics.
Ozzy Osbourne rose to fame in the 1970s as the lead vocalist of British heavy metal pioneers Black Sabbath before achieving multi-platinum success as a solo artist and starring in reality television. Dee Snider gained prominence as the lead vocalist of American heavy metal group Twisted Sister, known for 1980s rock anthems including We're Not Gonna Take It.

The exchange between Osbourne and Snider comes amid a broader history of public feuds involving television personalities and reality stars. Bobby Berk addressed rumors of a falling out with his Queer Eye co-star Tan France in January 2024, two months after announcing his departure from the series after eight seasons. Berk told Vanity Fair that he and France would be fine, clarifying that a personal situation had been brewing that had nothing to do with the show or romance.
