Kelly Osbourne Speaks Out on Grief Following Ozzy Death

Kelly Osbourne has revealed that a piece of her died alongside her father Ozzy Osbourne, describing the past year as the hardest of her life. Speaking to Hello! magazine, the television personality opened up about her deep grief following the loss of the legendary musician, who passed away at the age of 76.

She stated that she would never be the person she was before her father died, explaining that everything had changed and she now takes life one day at a time. She added that she is working to put the pieces of her life back together in a way she hopes will succeed.

Kelly Osbourne, 41, is an English television personality and singer who first gained public attention starring in the reality series The Osbournes. Her father, heavy metal icon Ozzy Osbourne, rose to global fame as the lead vocalist of Black Sabbath before launching a multi-platinum solo career.

To navigate this difficult transition, the former Fashion Police presenter disclosed that she has turned to psychotherapy, which she described as a step-by-step process. She emphasized that a person must address their mental health before attempting to fix their body, noting that recovery is a gradual journey that cannot be resolved in a single session or a single day.

She added that mental health work is something she will need to continue for the rest of her life. Through therapy, she noted that she is learning to understand herself in an entirely new way.

Coping With Online Criticism

Osbourne also addressed the intense public criticism she faced over her slimmed-down appearance during a public appearance in London shortly after her father's death. She admitted that she did not handle the cruel commentary at the time because she was severely ill, questioning how anyone could manage such harsh treatment while suffering from illness.

She reported that her health has since improved significantly and expressed gratitude for the support network currently surrounding her. She explained that grieving often leads to losing friends because many people do not know how to cope with loss, but praised the loyal inner circle that stayed by her side.

The recent comments follow previous instances where Osbourne publicly defended herself against scrutiny regarding her weight. On February 25, 2026, she responded to messages claiming she looked frail and thin by declaring that no one deserves such abuse, and on June 19, 2026, she stated that critics commenting on her appearance must be mentally unstable.

Fashion Police was a long-running American television series focused on fashion commentary, while Hello! magazine is a prominent British weekly publication covering celebrity news and human interest stories.
