One physiotherapist at the Hospital e Maternidade Marieta Konder Bomhausen, in Itajaí, Santa Catarina, was spotted dancing with a newborn in the pocket of the lab coat. A video showing the professional’s conduct went viral on social media this Tuesday 15.

“All legal measures – penal, ethical-administrative and civil – are being taken with the utmost rigor, including the verification of collaborators who filmed or participated in this despicable scene, without defending the child,” reads an excerpt from the note. .

The Regional Council of Physiotherapy (Crefito-10) also demonstrated. In a statement, he said the agency’s Inspection Department had been referred to the hospital. If it is ascertained that the professional was really a physiotherapist, as specified by the Healthcare Company, “there will be a precautionary suspension of the practice of the profession until the conclusion of the competent disciplinary deontological procedure”.

Crefito-10 also stressed that the attitude video was made in isolation and that “it will not tarnish the quality of service provided by the more than 16,000 professional physiotherapists and occupational therapists in Santa Catarina”.

The Public Prosecutor of Santa Catarina (MP-SC) reported that they are aware of the situation. “The 4th Public Prosecutor’s Office of Itajaí, in charge of the childhood and adolescence area, is analyzing the case to see what measures will be taken”.
