Mulled wine: find out how to prepare the traditional drink to warm you up during the June holidays

The cold has already arrived in many Brazilian cities and the atmosphere of the June festival is approaching! On days when the temperature is lower, some recipes are perfect for warming up, especially drinks. OR hot wine it’s one of them!




With many flavours, the preparation will win over all your guests and will make them feel more at ease in this winter climate. Separate the ingredients and try this delight ready in just 30 minutes. See full instructions below:

Hot wine

Time: 30 minutes

Performance: 8 servings

Difficulty: easy

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup (tea) sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups (tea) water
  • 1 bottle of dry red wine (750ml)
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • Zest of the peel of 1 orange without the white part
  • 1 unpeeled Fuji apple, cut into cubes

Preparation method:

  1. Pour half the sugar into a pan and heat over medium heat, stirring until golden caramel.
  2. Add the water and then stir until dissolved.
  3. Pour in the rest of the sugar, the wine, the cloves, the cinnamon, the orange zest and cook for about 10 minutes, from when it starts to boil.
  4. Turn off the heat, blend the apple and then serve in glasses.
