Vampire Mammoplasty: The Procedure Uses Blood to Enhance the Appearance of the Breast

Nonsurgical method promises improvements in skin texture and collagen production in the area; plastic surgeon says it’s fast and safe

The aesthetics market has seen a growing search for innovative and less invasive aesthetic procedures, and one of the treatments that has attracted attention is the Vampire Breast Lift or Vampire Mammoplasty. The technique with an unusual name uses the patient’s own blood to improve the appearance of the breast.

In an interview with Earth youPlastic surgeon and member of the Brazilian Society of Plastic Surgery, Marcos Cassol, explains that the procedure is not surgical and that, despite taking blood, it uses only a portion of the plasma, the liquid part of the blood that carries blood cells and other vital components throughout the body – rich in platelets.

According to the doctor, the procedure is very safe and can improve the appearance of the breast, skin texture and stimulate collagen production, but it does not completely solve severe sagging skin in the area.

“The procedure is relatively quick, it requires taking blood from a peripheral vein, usually in the arm. Then this blood is processed in a centrifuge and then we inject the platelet-rich plasma, which is part of the blood, into the breast,” explains the specialist.

After surgery, it is recommended to avoid physical activity and sun exposure during the recovery period, when possible the swelling and redness in the area decrease or disappear.

The technique is recommended for people who have slightly sagging breasts and want to improve the appearance of their skin. It is essential that patients consider all the information and consult a qualified professional before opting for this technique, evaluating the benefits and limitations based on their individual expectations and needs.
