Beware of very dry air and health risks

Humidity below 20% is also present this Thursday in several Brazilian states. Know the health risks.

On Wednesday afternoon, several areas of Mato Grosso do Sul recorded relative humidity below 20%. The state was one of the driest places in the country, along with northern São Paulo, the Triângulo Mineiro, southern Goiás and Mato Grosso, southern Piauí and Maranhão, and western Bahia, where the level of air humidity was also high. In some places it dropped to less than 20%. However, in Mato Grosso do Sul, this occurred in several regions of the state.

The recent passage of polar air over Brazil has made the air drier than it was at the end of June. Most of the country remains rainless this Thursday and very low humidity levels are once again recorded.
