New edition of the event, which began last Thursday 4th, which in the first four days brought together more than 6,300 people
The friendly region of Pomerodein Santa Catarina, is celebrating – and the best possible celebration for lovers of good food. The 18th Pomerode Gastronomic Festival has been taking place since Thursday, the 4th. The event, which has become a tradition in the region with strong German origins, has already brought together 6,300 people in its first weekend.
This year’s theme for the festival is Germanic Roots, Tropical Flavors. Each restaurant has created a dish that combines Germanic-influenced cuisine with Brazilian ingredients found by immigrants who arrived in Pomerode in the 19th century.
“Our goal is to repeat the turnout of 30,000 people that we had last year. This start with a 10% growth is a good sign and serves as recognition of the efforts of the restaurants and the organization to improve the festival year after year,” said the president of the Visit Pomerode Association (Avip), Manfredo Goede, in a statement.
What is the program of the Pomerode festival?
In addition to the menu with more than 100 options and the variety of beverages, such as wines, beers, soft drinks and the traditional Glühwein, the Pomerode Gastronomic Festival includes around 50 live music performances, 17 performance classes with chefs and gastronomic personalities, presentations by folklore groups and much more.
Also worth mentioning is the gastronomic presence of the region with important brands, such as Pomerode Alimentos, which produces the award-winning Morro Azul cheese.
It is also worth mentioning that the festival works very differently from what we see in other events of this type. The atmosphere is festive, but the service is restaurant-like: waiters, crystal glasses, real dishes and cutlery, in a truly unique setting.
