Louise Thompson has taken a sharp swipe at her ex-boyfriend Spencer Matthews in a reflective social media post while praising her fiancé Ryan Libbey.

The former Made in Chelsea star, 36, told her Instagram followers on Wednesday that she had spent years begging a loser for the bare minimum before meeting Libbey, 36.

Thompson posted a video montage showing romantic highlights of her relationship with Libbey and quality time spent with their four-year-old son, Leo.

Writing alongside the footage, Thompson said: "Unfortunately, I spent years begging a loser for the bare minimum."

She added: "So excuse me while I brag about the man whose only ever shown consistency, understanding, gentleness and that I'm the centre of his universe."

Thompson did not stop there, adding a footnote in the comment section of her post: "Sorry make that decades and loser(s) plural".

Fans quickly reacted to the post in the comment section, with one commenter joking that they hoped Matthews' wife, Vogue Williams, had not seen the upload.

The follower wrote: "Don't let Vogue hear you say that! No longer a loser. When are you going to get that matching tattoo Louise, must be time. Ryman is the best."

She wrote: 'Listen up girls. Marry the kind man. You will need all the kindness when life gets tough. And it always does. Really glad I found myself a kind man'

Thompson rose to prominence on the long-running E4 reality series Made in Chelsea, a structured reality show following affluent young people in West London. Libbey, a personal trainer, also joined the show after meeting Thompson.

Relationship advice and family life

Thompson accompanied her post with relationship advice for her female followers, urging them to choose kindness when selecting a long-term partner.

She wrote: "Listen up girls. Marry the kind man. You will need all the kindness when life gets tough. And it always does. Really glad I found myself a kind man after a fair amount of shopping around. Patience is a virtue."

In her caption, Thompson detailed how Libbey supported her through severe health battles and a traumatic life-threatening experience.

She explained that Libbey remained by her side when she nearly died while giving birth to their son Leo in 2021.

The couple first became close in the summer of 2016 when Libbey was working as her personal trainer. At the time, Thompson was seemingly still in a relationship with American businessman Alik Alfus.

Thompson and Libbey continued to strengthen their relationship over the following two years, officially announcing their engagement in 2018.

Tumultuous history on Made in Chelsea

Matthews, 38, and Thompson dated on and off between 2011 and 2013 during their time on Made in Chelsea.

Their relationship ended when they met by the River Thames. When confronting her to end things, Spencer aggressively put the blame onto her as to why their romance was doomed

Their high-profile romance ended bitterly once and for all following a string of cheating rumours on both parts.

Viewers watched Thompson break down in tears across multiple episodes of the reality show during their turbulent relationship.

During their romance, Matthews cheated on Thompson in her own bed, and cast member Millie Mackintosh famously slapped him across the face.

The Lothario went on to find love with Vogue, 40, and they married in 2018. Earlier this month, they welcomed their fourth child together, a baby boy named Remi Valentine

Their relationship memorably ended when the couple met by the River Thames in London to discuss their future.

When confronting her to end things, Matthews aggressively put the blame onto Thompson as to why their romance was doomed.

He shouted the now-infamous line on camera: "It's f*****g hard for me to respect you when you allow me to cheat on you."

One fan joked they hoped Spencer's wife Vogue Williams hasn't seen her post as they wrote in the comments: 'Don't let Vogue hear you say that! No longer a loser'

Matthews later admitted that the pair had actually broken up the night before, but producers wanted them to film a breakup scene for the show.

Matthews went on to find love with Irish model and television presenter Vogue Williams, 40, and the couple married in 2018.

Earlier this month, Williams and Matthews welcomed their fourth child together, a baby boy named Remi Valentine.

After Louise's relationship with Spencer ended in 2013, she moved on with businessman Alik Alfus in 2014. He seemingly was referenced in her savage post too (pictured in 2014)

Matthews previously stated that he regretted his behaviour and conduct during his years appearing on Made in Chelsea.

Reflecting on his past actions, Matthews said: "My life was spiralling out of control. It was during Made In Chelsea and I had a drinking problem. I would drink to excess almost daily and had a deluded sense of grandeur. I was uncomfortable in my own skin and change felt like too much of an effort."

He continued: "I thought that because I was a prominent character on a popular TV show that things would just happen for me, not realizing that any kind of real success only comes through hard graft and determination,"

Matthews added: "I had no routine, no motivation, no drive and no plan. My unsustainable appetite for socialising became detrimental to my health and wellness."

Previous digs and former romances

After Thompson's relationship with Matthews ended in 2013, she moved on with American businessman Alik Alfus in 2014, who appeared to be referenced in her post regarding "loser(s) plural".

Wednesday's Instagram upload is not the first time Thompson has publicly taken aim at Matthews and her past boyfriends.

She previously tweeted: "I don't have Ex's! I have Y's. Like Y the hell did I date you?!?!?!!?!"

The television star also joked that she had "dodged a bullet" after learning details of how Matthews proposed to Williams at a performance of The Lion King.

Remarking on the proposal at the time, Thompson said: "I find it so odd that he proposed at The Lion King. That would be my worst nightmare, so I'm b****y glad I dodged that bullet."
