Pop superstar Madonna will not appear at the Glastonbury 2027 music festival, despite widespread fan expectations that she would make her debut performance at the famous Somerset event. Festival organiser Emily Eavis confirmed that the American singer is not part of the lineup, ending months of speculation surrounding her potential debut.
Speaking on the BBC Radio 4 program PM, Eavis revealed that organisers have already finalized the list of performers for the 2027 festival. Addressing rumors that the star would perform in Somerset, Eavis stated clearly that Madonna would definitely not be appearing at the event.
Eavis added that organisers have already secured three other headline artists for the festival and expressed great excitement about how preparations are progressing. When asked about the possibility of Taylor Swift appearing on the lineup, Eavis simply smiled and declined to offer any further details regarding future performers.
Addressing Glastonbury Lineup Rumors
Speculation regarding Madonna's potential debut at Glastonbury first surfaced in June after the singer appeared on the BBC show The Graham Norton Show. During the broadcast, she hinted that she was planning a larger project in the United Kingdom for the following summer, leading fans to link her to the festival.
Eavis addressed the ongoing media reports by stating that nearly 95 percent of published stories about Glastonbury are untrue and that rumors almost always prove to be wrong. She emphasized that festival organisers have secured their artists and are moving forward as planned, looking forward to returning to Worthy Farm.
The confirmation follows last year's festival edition, which featured major headline acts including The 1975, Neil Young, Olivia Rodrigo, and Rod Stewart on the main stage.
Recent Success on the UK Charts
Despite missing out on a Glastonbury appearance, Madonna continues to achieve major commercial success in the United Kingdom. On Friday, her collaborative track with Australian pop singer Kylie Minogue, titled Love Sensation, debuted at Number 8 on the UK singles chart.
The entry marks Madonna's highest UK chart placement in 17 years. According to The Guardian, the song is the second single released from her new album Confessions II, which came out on July 3, with Minogue featured on the remix version of the track.
The single represents Madonna's 65th Top 10 single in the UK, extending a chart career that has spanned four decades. According to the news agency APE-MPE, only two artists have achieved more UK Top 10 singles in history: Elvis Presley with 76 and Cliff Richard with 68.
