Spanish singer Manuel Carrasco has announced an indefinite pause from performing live on stage following a final concert in Marbella, Spain, where he struggled with severe voice issues. The show in Marbella will be the singer's last concert appearance for two years. Carrasco explained that he needs time to rest and focus on writing new music before planning a future return to the stage.
Despite experiencing vocal strain that prevented him from singing at his usual standard, Carrasco refused to cancel the performance. Throughout his music career, the performer had never cancelled a scheduled concert, and he chose to complete the full set despite his health difficulties.

Dressing room gift from daughter Chloe
Before taking the stage, Carrasco received an emotional surprise in his dressing room from his daughter Chloe, who turned nine years old in June. Knowing that her father had spent the previous week unable to speak due to illness, she brought him a holy prayer card depicting the Virgin of the Sea.
Speaking to the crowd during the show in Marbella, Carrasco shared his daughter's gesture with his fans. He told the audience that Chloe had taken the religious card from his car after learning he was unwell, presenting it to him before the show to give him encouragement.
Carrasco later posted a video carousel on Instagram featuring highlights from the backstage moment and the live show. In his caption, he wrote that the concert felt like a sigh in the middle of everything and provided a meaningful connection with his fans, while revealing that the performance was filmed for an upcoming documentary to be broadcast on Univision and streamed on ViX.
Univision is a major Spanish-language television network based in the United States, while ViX is the global streaming platform operated by media company TelevisaUnivision. The upcoming documentary feature will showcase Carrasco's special performance for international audiences.
Following the social media post, fans posted hundreds of supportive comments urging the singer to rest, recover his health, and spend dedicated time with his family while taking a break from his music career.
Medical treatment and stage struggle
According to regional news outlet Huelva24, Carrasco addressed the audience before the performance to apologise for his voice not being at full strength. He told the crowd that he had undergone medical treatment in the days leading up to the concert, including receiving injections on the day of the show to allow him to perform.
Carrasco told fans that the show represented one of the most difficult challenges of his career. He admitted feeling distressed because he had gone several months without performing live and did not want to break his record of never cancelling a concert, asking the audience to sing along and support him whenever his voice began to fail.
The concert took place at the Starlite Marbella festival, an annual music event held in an open-air quarry amphitheatre in Marbella, a resort city located in the southern Spanish region of Andalusia.
