Tonight on TV: Do you like Palmashow? The spirit of the comic duo resides in this comedy that is unfairly shunned by the public

Five years after the success of La Folle Histoire de Max et Léon, which attracted more than 1.2 million viewers to cinemas, the Palmashow comedy duo of Grégoire Ludig and David Marsais returns to the cinema under its director Jonathan Barre. The result is the engaging comedy Les Vedettes, a delicious satire of television and mass media.

Les Vedettes, released in cinemas in 2022, did not meet with the audience, and it is a shame, because this comedy, with its funny clip, causes a lot of sympathy. It’s almost certain: you’ll have a great time watching this movie while you’re on vacation, totally in the Palmashow spirit! It’s funny, absurd, tender… in short, really cute!

The story of the stars? This is Daniel, a failed singer who works in an appliance store. Willing to do anything to pay off his debts and find himself in the limelight, he decides to use Stephen, a naïve and pretentious colleague, to take part in game shows. So yes, everything is stacked against them. So no, it won’t be easy. But Daniel and Stefan are full of resources…

Grégoire Ludig, David Marsais and director Jonathan Barre had a hard time finding a theme for the second feature film. “We were a little depressed”– says the film director. “So I searched my computer, where I keep ideas that might be useful one day or another, and I came across this guy who remembers the prices of household appliances in the United States. The guys have everything, they were immediately excited! There was a completely absurd idea that belonged parallel world, which excited them.” We bet you will be too?

Tonight on TF1 at 21:10.
