The killer bubble, the famous trash film from 1958, has just received a new remake. According to The Wrap, David Bruckner of Hellraiser: Reborn from Hellwill be the writer and director of the new version commissioned by Warner Bros.
With its simple but effective visual effects, The killer bubble became a classic of trash horror and paved the way for the “Aliens” genre. Six decades after its release, it continues to be a reference as a cult science fiction film for its originality and excellence.
Its sequel, directed by Larry Hagman and released 14 years later as a comedy, continues the story of the original, but with a new script and actions of the alien creature.
The 1988 remake, which brought more popularity to the plot, started a new story, also changing Bubble’s origin. Although considered a success, the film had a budget of $19 million, with revenue of approximately $8 million.
