The famous Hollywood actor, who was Mysterio in “Spider-Man: Far From Home”, said in a recent interview for the portal “Screen Rant” that he would love to play Batman. It all started when the conversation talked about the new version of the Dark Knight that the DCU is preparing called “The Brave and the Bold”, which would focus on showing a story that integrates Batman and Robin as a team.
Although there is no release date yet, Jake Gyllenhaal assured that it would be interesting to play Bruce Wayne when asked about it.
With no official casting yet, his statement could be the first step towards being considered as the next Batman. An interesting fact about this is that Gyllenhaal had already auditioned for the role in Christopher Nolan’s ‘Batman Begins’ but lost out to Christian Bale and even though the film’s writer, David S. Goyer, asked to be cast , that didn’t happen.
“The Brave and the Bold” will be directed by Andy Muschietti from a script by Bill Finger, Bob Kane and Grant Morrison. Additionally, new DC Studios boss James Gunn has stated that this will be “the introduction of the Batman of the DCU.”
