Simon Kinberg, who is also responsible for productions such as Fantastic Four (2015) and X-Men: Dark Phoenix, is expected to script and produce new films
Simon Kinbergwho worked on several films in the franchise X-Menin Fantastic Four (2015) and, recently, in Deadpool & Wolverine (2024), would have been cast to script and produce a new trilogy of Star Wars.
According to information from the Deadline, Kinberg would be responsible for episodes 10, 11 and 12 of the franchise, which would follow the story of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, 2019. However, there is also the possibility of it being a new trilogy, which would follow stories presented in projects led by James Mangold (Indiana Jones and the Relic of Destiny), Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy (Ms. Marvel), Taika Waititi (Thor: Love and Thunder) and Donald Glover (Mr. & Mrs. Smith).
Disney and Lucasfilm declined to confirm or deny the information. Currently, there are only a few confirmed projects for the franchise, such as The Mandalorian & Grogu, scheduled to hit theaters on May 22, 2026, which will continue the story of the Disney+ series.
There is also a film about Reycharacter from Daisy Ridley in the third trilogy of Star Warswhich will really continue the story of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker and will be commanded by Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy; and, finally, a film James Mangold about the origin of the Jedi, which should take place around three thousand years before the main story.
