Boatwhich arrives accompanied by an official music video, was written on the English coast amidst the extreme elements of winter and serves as a metaphor for depression: battling the struggles of feeling unmotivated and not knowing how to break the cycle.
The audiovisual record, directed by Mia Barnesshow and submerged in the sea with the waves engulfing it, further solidifying the message of Boat.
The song follows the release of fourteenth number 1 single In Ed Sheeran to the UK, closed eyes – a feat that led the artist to reach the third place in the historic UK chartsjust behind Elvis Presley and of Beatles.
