Steve Carell of the Minions mocks one of Gru’s early weapons and what it does to its victims

It doesn’t matter which side of the fence you’re playing on, my favorite villain Gru is a fun character to watch. Steve Carell’s expert timing as the voice of this animated Illumination anti-hero helped the new prequel. Minions: The Rise of Gru big box office debut and welcomed fans into the world of Mini-Boss. Just because we see a younger Crane doesn’t mean he’s less inventive, as Carell teased one of the new inventions his character plays with in this game. new movie release – taking us back to his childhood in the 1970s.

There are two very familiar devices shown in servants 2, and both are apparently prototype weapons that the future Gru uses to wreak havoc as an adult supervillain. The first is something that dates back to our introduction to Gru in my favorite villainand it was a topic of discussion during my recent interview with Steve Carell.

As we had our conversation during the virtual press day for Minions: The Rise of Gru , the topic of the adorable potential villain in question has led to a discussion of when a potential villain should come up with his first Freeze Ray. While this weapon is still a long way off Gru’s timeline in the new film, Carell notes that part of his character’s arsenal in the film essentially sets the stage for this key piece of equipment:

Gru and his little yellow friends find themselves using this Cheese Ray during a rather impatient stop at an ice cream shop Minions: The Rise of Gru. Don’t worry about spoilers, because the trailer for it you serve movie shows Gru’s sticky solution to a long tail. By putting cheese on his mates instead, our young villain gets the frozen treat he wants without kidding.

When we first met Gru in the 2010 comedy that launched the franchise, a similar situation occurred as we were looking for a morning coffee. As you’ll see below, it was a perfect introduction to Steve Carell’s gleefully evil villain and the Freeze Ray that made it all possible:

The big difference between my favorite villain Crane and Minions: The Rise of Gru incarnation is that we haven’t seen him go through any circumstances that make him a (somewhat) inveterate criminal. Aside from that, his ambitions remain as high as the Moon, even though Gru is content with a magical amulet that could make him a member of Vicious 6 in the new movie instead of any celestial object.

Of course, this is still a big dream for the 11-year-old, because up until his robbery he was involved in more trouble than heisted. This brings us to the other device that Minions: The Rise of Gru used to link the despicable protagonist’s past to their future. When deleting an entire projection from jaws with a very sizzling grenade, Gru’s antics are reminiscent of his work with a fart gun in the my favorite villain movie.

I will not spoil it for those who have not seen it yet. Minions: The Rise of Grubut there are some more important links with my favorite villain the story that appears, while some important characters show their faces this time. For now, it’s safe to say that Steve Carell’s understanding of Gru and his inventions is as perfected as it has been from the moment we first saw him in character action, which is great, because with Despicable Me 4 looming in 2024, it’s nice to know that you can always count on Carell to bring as many smiles to the table as possible.
