With nearly 40 arrests and 750 cell phones recovered, police release Rock in Rio security report


The Civil Police mobilized 1,675 agents during the seven days of the event

The announcement was made by the Secretariat of State of the Civil Police (Sepol), in a press conference held at the Guanabara Palace Rock in Rio Safety Assessment. Over the two weekends of the event, 889 incidents were recorded and 38 arrests were made in the actions related to the festival.

Of the arrests, 19 involved the sale of counterfeit products bearing the event’s trademark and receiving stolen cell phones. A total of 750 telephones were recovered and approximately 15 thousand fraudulent items were seized.

Of the 889 incidents, 780 were recorded in the inner area of ​​Rock in Rio, where private security operated, with most of the reports involving cell phone thefts.

During the seven days of the event, more than 700,000 people passed through the City of Rock. To meet the demand, the The Civil Police has mobilized 1,675 agentswith a specialized force for testimony and reception of groups in vulnerable situations, as well as criminal and forensic experts.

A projection of the 16th DP (Barra da Tijuca) was installed in the police facility. In addition, seven assistance points were set up within the event, equipped with tablets to facilitate the online registration of incidents.
