Kiko Loureiro’s new phase

For the first time in more than 30 years of career, Kiko Loureiro is completely separated from a band. The guitarist left Megadeth to spend more time with his family and was not involved in any project other than his own solo career.

In an interview with Igor Miranda websiteLoureiro said that the new phase does not cause as much anxiety. After all, everything he is doing now — recording, releasing, performing, etc. — was also part of his activities in the past.

“You realize you’re anxious, but then you realize you don’t have to be that way. It’s going to happen, it’s another album. But I only realized this now, that it’s a ‘solo-solo’ album. On the tour (held in Brazil between June and August 2024) I realized this a little, despite playing Angra songs, singing Megadeth songs, experimenting.”

Despite the announced shows in Brazil, Kiko will not undertake long tours. He points out:

“I left Megadeth to stop touring, so I’m not leaving, I’m not booking.”
