In a podcast, the pop star said that working on the film was a “dream role” and revealed that a new version of ‘Eternal Sunshine’ should come out soon

Ariana Grande recently spoke to the podcast Awards Circuitwhere she opened up about preparing for her dream role as Glinda in Wicked. She also gave spoilers about a new deluxe version of the album Eternal Sunshine (2024) and the new song by Glinda in the second part of production, Wicked: For Good. The sequel is expected to hit theaters in November.
During the podcast, Ariana Grande said he started preparing to play the character before he even had the role.
I started acting classes a year before I even knew when the auditions would take place. I wanted to make sure I was ready. Transform my voice to sing the soprano parts of Glinda it took months. Pop singing, musical theater is so different. I had to train my muscles and reshape how I approached each note.”
After she was cast, she recognized that playing Glinda came with an extra responsibility:
From the moment it was announced, I knew this role would live with me forever. It’s an honor, but it also comes with a lot of weight. I wanted to do justice. Glinda isn’t just a character to me — she’s a symbol of growth and love, and I wanted to give her everything I had.”
Big also talked a little about what to expect from the new song written by the composer Stephen Schwartzwhich will be presented in Wicked: For Good.
It is a crucial moment in the journey of Glinda. It shows a side of her we’ve never seen before. In the play, this transformation happens offstage. But in the film, we see her make the decision that defines who she is. It’s a privilege to sing this song and be the first Glinda to bring it to life.”
She also gave some news about the upcoming deluxe version of Eternal Sunshinesaying that the new version is already “in the can” and will feature some new songs.
“It’s a very special project,” Grande said on the podcast. “I’m very present now. I want to let my kids miss me for two seconds. I’m excited to surprise them with it at some point, but I’m still thinking about the right moment in my head.
